In today’s world, everyone is telling you what you are. They say, “You are a republican” or “You are a democrat.” People are defining people based on their skin color, gender, pronouns, past mistakes, political side, and ethnicity. There is a constant push to make yourself known by these things and there is never enough time to just sit down, and see who you actually are.
You are a child of God! You are a son or daughter of the King!
As Christians, it is very important for us to look at who God says we are because He is perfect, holy, and the one who created us and knows us better than we know ourselves.
We have a shirt on Joshua1.com that says “Know Your Worth.” We have this up there because so many people struggle with the idea of being worthy and being who God has made them to be. A lack of confidence in the world is a result of not knowing identity. It’s a crisis that nobody can seem to figure out. They try to put duct tape on a bullet wound and say it’ll fix it. The only fix is knowing who you are in Christ and allowing Him to define you.
The “Know Your Worth.” design is based off of Romans 8:35-39 which says
"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? As it is written, “For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord."
